Brain Injury Alliance of Oregon Membership

The Brain Injury Alliance of Oregon (BIAOR) was founded in 1984.  Many of its founders have had their own lives altered by brain injuries sustained by themselves, a family member, or friend. The Brain Injury Alliance of Oregon today, as the only statewide non-profit organization dedicated to brain injury, is a leader in brain injury support, education, prevention and advocacy. BIAOR was a charted state affiliate of the Brain Injury Association of America, Inc. until 2010. BIAOR became a chartered member of the Brain Injury Alliance. Today, BIAOR’s leadership represents a cross section of stakeholders in the field of brain injury, including survivors, family members, medical and clinical practitioners, attorneys, researchers and service providers. Since its inception, BIAOR has worked tirelessly to raise public awareness, prevent brain injury by education, improve treatments through professional education and research, and advocated for progressive change in the law.

Brain Injuries Affect Thousands of Oregonians Each Year

More than 85,000 Oregonians have seen their lives turned upside down by a traumatic brain injury.

Steve, Eric and Laurel are just three brain injury survivors who have found help and hope from the Brain Injury Association of Oregon.
