BIAOR Logo OnlineBrain Injury Stories Wanted!

BIAOR is interested in stories by Oregon brain injury survivors, their family members and friends for publication in a form that will be useful in promoting awareness of brain injury, advocating for government and agency services, and in fundraising. In addition, it is hoped that the stories will be helpful to other survivors and their families and friends.

Guidelines and questions designed to help write stories:

bullet

Keep it simple (one to three pages; double-spaced type)

bullet

Include your name, address and contact information (phone, fax, email, etc.) so we can contact you

bullet

First person experience. What happened, how did it affect you & what is it like today? Traumatic (blows to the head) and acquired organic injuries (aneurysms, tumors, etc.) are both important to us.

bullet

Were you hospitalized? In a coma? Required surgery?

bullet

What rehabilitation services have you received?

bullet

Were you informed of BIAOR support groups?  At what stage of recovery?

bullet

Are you gainfully employed?  Doing volunteer work? Unable to Work?

bullet

What support has been most helpful to you in your recovery?

Write what you think will interest readers. You needn’t cover all of the above.

Your writing will be honored as much as possible, but may require editing, depending on length and quantity of submissions received. If you mail to us, be sure to include your phone number and (if applicable) your email address so we can contact you if there are questions. Thank you for your interest.
