March 2010 Conference    December 2010 Fundraiser

December 2010 Fundraiser

BIAOR’s 10th Annual Fundraiser was held December 5 on the Portland Spirit.  The event raised funds to underwrite the many programs that BIAOR offers:  Neuro Resource Facilitation, The Headliner, Education, Training, Outreach, Advocacy and Support Groups.

This event would not have been possible without the tireless efforts of our Auctioneer and Committee Chair, Coleen Carney, as well as a hard working team of dedicated volunteers: Carol Altman, Tom Boyd, Jeri Cohen,  Becky Eakin, Andie Moon, Steve Morris, Tess Smith, Tootie Smith, and  Shane Stock; and our loyal Table Sponsors of Carney Smith & Associates LLC, Highland Heights & Shaun’s Place and Swanson Thomas & Coon.

Donations were provided by individual BIAOR members, their families and friends and the businesses that we all frequent.  We hope that you will become supporters of theirs as well.

 Donations of $300 or more

WIN logoWIN  Work Incentive Network

What is WIN? WIN is a free benefits and work incentives planning service provided by 6 Oregon Centers for Independent Living to people with disabilities who want to work.

WIN helps people with disabilities to:
1.Make Informed decisions about work and their benefits
2.Use work incentives to achieve their employment goals
3.Navigate the benefits system when they begin working Many people with disabilities believe that if they go to work, they will lose all cash benefits or medical insurance they receive… this is seldom true.

WIN provides a "one-stop" source of information and assistance, reduces the fear and misunderstanding about the effect that working has on benefits, helps prevent crises when change occurs, and improves employment and economic outcomes. www.win-oregon.com
