We’ve all read and heard about the increase in brain injury occurring in individuals from high school athletes to thousands of returning military. Did you know…

  • Current estimates state there are 17,000 new brain injuries each year in Oregon.
  • There are over 5.3 million individuals with brain injury in the US.
  • Survivors include babies and toddlers, school athletes who have first one, then another and another concussion.
  • Over 35% of returning military from Iran and Afghanistan are expected to return home and to their lives with brain injuries; having had minimal treatment; knowing little of their resources.
These soldiers have served the US. We need to serve them in their reintegration to an altered life.  Brain injury has, or will, affect you or someone you love over the coming years.
